Some (not all) of our G/T students are enrolled in Aleks, which is an internet based subscription to standards-based Math curriculum. The curriculum is one grade level above, and students needed to show high math aptitude indicated by ITBS (Iowa Assessment) scores of 95% or above and/or Cognitive Ability Testing scores of SAS 125 to have qualified to use it.
I have pulled out all the students who are enrolled and made sure they went through the tutorial. They should be completing the initial assessment if they haven't done so already.
We are providing students with 30 minutes a day times 3 days per week as a minimum that they will be engaged with the Aleks program. They should also be accessing Aleks at home whenever possible. For maximum results, a student would spend 3 hours per week. At school, the Aleks program will replace the Success Maker Math, which students access between 60-90 minutes per weeks. On the short weeks, students are allowed access during Math time.

Below are some pictures of students using our new MacBook computers! We are ALL so excited to have technology at our fingertips!
