I’m looking forward
to an awesome Christmas, as I’m sure you all are, too! However, I REALLY worry
that some of our students will return in 18 days pretty rusty. So, I’ve assigned ONE math worksheet (click on the link) as
homework. Please encourage you student to work on it the first few days of
January in preparation for their return on Tuesday, January 6th.
Checking their
answers is part of the process, so students know and should be able to
demonstrate to you that they check answers by multiplying the divisor by the
quotient and getting the same number as the dividend in the division
problem.
If you have internet
or a smart phone, and your child is feeling a bit “bored,” remind them they
have work to do on Khan Academy, Moby Max Math, and Manga High (I’ve assigned
another challenge).
Continue to “quiz”
the math facts, especially multiplication. Subtraction is also very useful to
review.
Thank you for all the
wonderful cards and gifts! It’s unnecessary, but so appreciated! Working with
your child, persevering through rigorous and challenging math is actually
something I look forward to daily! J
Have a wonderful Christmas break, enjoy your child, and we’ll see you
next year!
