We are in the middle of doing biographical research for a final presentation to be held on March 1st at the Administration Building. Students have chosen famous, or not so famous, people who have played an important role in STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
Students must 1. Read a book about their chosen person, 2. Find more information (as needed) on the Internet - do google searches "for kids"after the name of the person, 3. cite sources on 3x5 cards or lined paper, and 4. compile information. Why was this person important enough to have a biography written about him/her? What kind of childhood did this person have? How was it similar/different from yours? In most biographies, the person has to overcome some difficulty - describe an obstacle the person overcame. Who influences this person's early years? What character traits do you most admire in this person? Why?
Students will also be dressing up as their person and giving a Power Point presentation on March 1st.
