Save Sam!

In middle school this week, we talked about how the G/T program has changed from previous years. We will be meeting for 2 periods each week rather than one, and we will be doing some more complex and challenging learning that encompasses more than one curricular area. For example, we'll start a unit that is all about DEBATE. Students will learn how to build and defend an argument, learning research techniques along the way, and be able to effectively argue two sides of an issue. Prepare yourselves, parents! This might translate into "I need a raise in my allowance, because...."

We also did a little fun activity, called, "Save Sam!" Students had to work in pairs to save Sam the worm, who can't swim, by manipulating a life preserver (Life Saver), all with only paperclips as tools.
