What Did You Do This Summer?

One of my daughters and I set out to tackle the 4-pass-loop, an extremely difficult hiking trail in the White River National Forest. It was an intense backpacking trip, and thankfully, we didn't see any bears even though we did see evidence of them.

This is part of the trail

Snowmass Lake

Trail Rider Trail - Frigid Air Pass is just ahead

Another stream crossing - brr!!!

One of the many beautiful views

Walked this ridge to get to the pass

This is steeper than it looks!

We thought we made it to the top...but no, up there, beyond, is the pass.

Crater Lake below Maroon Bells

This is the stream where we lost a pole, but then were able to retrieve it.

This might be why they call it the "Rocky Mountains"

My daughter, my BFF's daughter, me, and my BFF

Another beautiful view

My daughter eating oatmeal, getting ready for the day's hike.

We had to hang our food in our "bear bags" to keep it away from bears.

The view...amazing.

So what did YOU do this summer?
