What I Did This Summer

This was probably the quickest summer I've ever experienced! Even though it was about as long as a regular summer, I managed to stay quite busy, and covered over 3,000 miles in my vehicle, not to mention the miles on my legs hiking, running, and biking.

Along with many other teachers, I spent several weeks working on our new math curriculum, and learned about effective assessments. There was data training, workshops, and collaboration all in an effort to help students. As a result, I am really looking forward to teaching this year! Such an exciting time to be in education!

Some of the highlights of my summer are below:

I went to Annapolis, Maryland and Washington, DC to pick up....

this daughter, who spent a week at the US Naval Academy.

Then, I went to Colorado to pick up this daughter....
....who had spent a week at the Young Conservative Leadership Conference.
So, we went hiking, of course!

Here we are taking a short break before ascending to two different 14-ers, known as Grays and Torreys.

This is me with my childhood friend! We went to elementary school, middle school, high school, and even college together. She is lucky enough to live in Colorado.

How was your summer?
