Students have learned
so much the past few weeks! They’ve really persevered and are getting good at
justifying their answers.
Next week we’ll have
a mid-unit assessment in math. Students will be bringing home a review worksheet
that we completed in Friday’s class.
Please ask to see the paper and have your child talk through some of the
problems with you.
A few students still
need regular review of their multiplication facts. A few minutes each night
will really help, especially the 12’s (12 x 1 through 12 x 12). I encourage you to read aloud with your child
every night, and then before or after, do a little math fact review.

website for parents to check what essential skills in 5th grade (and
other grades if you have more children) look like: milestones.greatkids.org
In science, we are finishing up the Cube Project. Man students will be
working on their story and finishing touches over the weekend. Some are using
Google Docs to type their information.
Their notebooks are full of interesting information on all kinds of
subjects related to the Solar System. Please
remind your student to bring back their science spiral notebook on Monday.
