We will be wrapping up
our Module on decimal addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division this
week and moving into Module 3. This
module takes a deeper look at FRACTIONS!
J Yay!
This is my favorite part of 5th grade math, and students will be
making connections between decimals and fractions, equivalent fractions, and
using mental math strategies to compare fractions. Attached is the Parent Guide (this was sent home) that gives you
an overview of what your student will be learning in the next several
weeks.
Mrs. Hagens will be
finishing her teaching stint with us at the end of November, and officially
leaves us December 14th. I’d
like to celebrate her with a going-away party and shower her with some gifts
that a first year teacher will appreciate.
If you’d be willing to help me with this, please send an item or two
with your student. (We’ll be hush-hush
about it and surprise her!)
