Update from 5th grade teachers

ELA/Reading

·      Please continue to help your child become a better reader by reading at home 15 – 20 minutes every night.

·      Ask your child questions about what he/she is reading for their free reading book, or have your child read aloud for several minutes from his/her book.

·      Book Log information will be coming home next week, as will FAST results.

·      We will have a strong focus on writing next week in ELA, and will be taking our first unit test.  We will be incorporating dialogue into our written work.

Science
·      We’ve finished up Systems and will begin our new unit Monday!

Mathematics
·      Monday, October 3rd will be our UNIT test.  Your child has study guides from yesterday and today.
